First of all a word about our sponsors of this event. As much as we would all like to have everything that we need be donated that is not always possible. The board of directors of Sister Season made a decision when we started doing Survivors Party 3 years ago to allow people and businesses to sponsor this event to help defray costs and meet our goal of all monies raised at our events be available for benefits to the locals we help. Some individuals gave cash and other paid for specific expenses. We appreciate our sponsors who made the event such a success and if we have missed you please let us know so we can add you to the listing. These sponsors include:
$ 50.00-100.00 Seashell
Randy Thompson, R oy Hogberg |
$101.00-$250.00 Starfish
Monkey Apple Art, Robert Leiby, Jr., Island House, Conch Republic Seafood, |
The Green Parrot, Latrattoria/Virgilio’s, Carlos Rojas |
$251.00-$500.00 Angel Fish
KEY WEST BANK Betty Rubenstein P&E Ginger King Jt Thaller, 801 bourbon, bourbon st pub
$501.00-$999.00 Sand Castles
John Brown, John Burns & Doug Pryor (As A Group)
Key West Mini Storage, Chuck Thompson, La-Te-Da,
$1000.00 & up Queen Conch
Nick And Suzie Trivisonno, Boca Metals, Flamingo Café
The total in cash sponsorships was $4,239.00.
We have already paid out $4591.42 in party expenses, police coverage, insurance, miscellaneous needs at the event itself that weren’t donated with more bills to come in yet. The shortage will be covered from monies from last years sponsorships which was $854.65 left to cover those expenses.
Services donated by, and items paid directly by others, such as graphics work, poster printing and distribution, linens, advertising paid for directly by others, transportation to get items to and from the event, total close to $5,000.00 so the costs of the event of Close to $10,000.00 did not come from any of the monies raised at the event.
So now for the cash raised at the event
- Donation at the door $5,125.00
- 50/50 raffles $1,560.00
- Silent auction $6,481.00
- Other donations made at the event $1,258.00
- T-shirt sales $ 635.00
Grand total net to fund $15,059.00
This is the total that will be used to assist locals in the form of payments to landlords and utility companies. Please pay special note that over 50 local businesses donated food, prizes, equipment and/or workers. They really reflect the spirit of our community. Please see our thanks page for more information on those that supported this event. And I would like to remind everyone, no one who servers on the board of this fund receives any compensation. As a matter of fact the annual filing fees with the state, stationary, postage, phones, etc. are being paid for by the board members themselves. Please remember our goal is to pay back out almost every dollar we raise in donations to the fund. And I firmly believe we have accomplished this with the Survivors party.
